Castle Grayskull Statue by Icon Heroes

More like Castle Greenskull, am I right?

Green, gray or even purple, He-Man's homestead is represented here in stunning detail by Icon Heroes. This statue stands nearly 10-inches high, which may make it a tad on the small side if you were hoping to populate Grayskull with your Matty Collector MOTU Classics, but it would still make a fantastic centerpiece.

BigBadToyStore has the Castle Grayskull statue up for pre-order right now. Look for it to arrive in March,  but to pre-sell out long before then. Checkout the BBTS website for photos of the statue from alternate angles.

Matty Collector Ghostbusters Clearance Sale

BigBadToyStore has a couple of the Matty Collector Ghostbusters in their clearance section.

• 6" Peter Venkman (Courtroom) with Nunzio Scoleri - $10.20
• 6" Ray Stanz in Blue Lab Coat with Subway Ghost - $15.00

With the 6" Ghostbusters line apparently winding down - and Matty raising the price of new figures on their website to $22.00 - now is a good time to plug any holes you might have in your collection.

Matty Collector Sale Reminder

I hope you didn't already have lunch plans tomorrow, because you have a date with the crowned prince of plastic. Matty Collector's monthly sales event burns up the internet tomorrow afternoon (March, 14) at noon sharp (9:00am Pacific).

Head over to the Toy Sale Boat Forums now to find out what will be available and then come back tomorrow at 12:01 to talk about what sold out, what you got and how long you stared at Matty's refresh screen.

Mer-Miss & Masters of the Screw-niverse

Not to steal a bit from Poe Ghostal, but this swapped-out Aquaman vs. Mer-Man two-pack posted on Matty Collector's Facebook was too good not to re-post.

One Eternian embezzler wanted this set's exclusive blue Mer-Man so much that he gave up the body of his Goddess figure as well as his regular Mer-Man's alternate head to get it. The result, although both illegal and generally scummy, is sort of hilarious.

I like to think that for every swapped-out set like this, there's a Toys "R" Us exclusive Ghostbusters 2 four-pack that someone returned with the tan-suited Ghostbusters in place of the normal gray versions.

It's also worth noting that this photo was clearly not taken inside a Toys "R" Us. Perhaps the original poster preferred this alternate pairing.

Mattel >> Ghostbusters > Vince Clortho

Action Figure Insider posted a teaser image of Matty's upcoming Vince Clortho (Louis Tully) on their website last night.

It appears as though AFI may have a sneak preview review coming soon. For the rest of us, the Keymaster will be available to order through Matty Collector on Tuesday, March 15.

Will Vince Clortho find his way into your cart? Discuss it in our forums.

Mattel > Final JLU to be Exclusives

If you were looking forward to picking up every one of the 2011 Justice League Unlimited three-packs, hopefully you will be at one of the conventions Matty is attending this year.

Matty momentarily got the fans' hopes up concerning the always-intended-to-be-con-exclusive JLU three-packs, but the crowned one quickly recanted.

Matty went on to say that the JLU sets will be placed on MattyCollector.com if there are any left after the shows. Luckily for fans, Matty has expanded their (his?) travels plans for this convention season. In addition to San Diego Comic Con, Mattel will be attending C2E2 in Chicago (3/18-3/20), WonderCon in San Francisco (4/1-4/3), DragonCon in Atlanta (9/2-9/5) and New York Comic Con (10/13-10/16).

There will be three con-exclusive Justice League three-packs that cost $20.00 each.

• Goldface / Evil Star / Kyle Rayner
• Angleman / Firestorm / Killer Frost
• Heatwave / The Flash / Mirror Master

There are more JLU figures planned for 2011, including sets that will be available through brick and mortar retail.

Ghostbusters Roundup

There was gobs of news coming from the two major producers of Ghostbusters toys this week. Starting with Mattel, Scott "Toy Guru" Neitlich started a thread on the Matty Collector Ghostbusters forum here. Scott reassured fans that the line is performing well, but not well enough to warrant new tooling for 6-inch Real Ghostbusters.

BigBadToyStore has a couple of the Matty Collector Ghostbusters in their clearance section.

• 6" Peter Venkman (Courtroom) with Nunzio Scoleri - $16.00
• 6" Ray Stanz in Blue Lab Coat with Subway Ghost - $15.00

Most notably, Scott confirmed the following:

• Vinz Clortho (Louis Tully) will be the next Club Ecto-1 figure (he will be released in March)
•  After that, the next Ghostbuster release will come in May and will include a pack-in ghost
• GB2 Winston (with Slime Blower) will finally see release in July
• Mattel does not have the rights to produce a Louis Tully from Ghostbusters 2 (no jumpsuit Louis)
• Mattel looked into producing a Larry King figure, but they do not have the rights
• There will be two Ghostbusters 2 twelve-inch two-packs released in 2011
• Winston & Peter will come out first in April (they will include a lot of gear, including proton steams)

The eight-inch Retro-Action Ghostbusters have been hitting Toys R Us stores across the country en masse this week. Winston finds himself short packed at just one per case, while Peter is the heavy hitter with three figures per case. Egon and Ray are each packed two per case. If you're having trouble finding Winston or any of the Ghostbusters, Entertainment Earth currently has all figures in stock.

On the Diamond Select Toys front, we caught our fist glimpse of the Real Ghostbusters Minimates.

DST also started a Facebook page where they have treated fans to a look at the early stages of the Egyptian Ghost (Blacky) that will be released in the first series of Toys R Us exclusive two-packs.

Vikor Sell Out Fallout

The latest Masters of the Universe release on Matty Collector - Vikor - sold out in mere minutes today. There was some speculation that Vikor was produced in lower quantities than recent MOTU releases, but as it turns out, the full compliment of Vikor was not available at the time of sale.

Darn those blustery Northern winds! They’ve waylaid our second Vikor shipment for the moment, but we expect it to land at our warehouse soon. As soon as we confirm its arrival, we’ll have more Vikor figures for sale.

That's some good news for fans who missed out on the He-man of the North. The bad news is that you now have to wait until an unannounced later date to battle the Matty Collector ordering gauntlet once more.

Were you one of the lucky few who captured Vikor today? Are you a card carrying MOTU club member, laughing at the misfortune of others as you admire your Vikor figure? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Real Scale Stay Puft Marshamallow Man

MattyCollector.com forum user Vigo recently posted this photo of an in-scale Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Check out the Kenner action figures standing on his toes!

This is a huge Stay Puft my dad made based on the Kenner toy.

It is made of styrofoam and his head, arms and legs can be attached and detached.

The original Kenner GBs are standing on his feet to get an idea of the scale.

I reckon it is awesome!

The Slimer is also made out of styrofoam

Looks great Vigo - and I thought the DST Stay Puft Marshmallow Man bank was cool!

Mattel's Ghostbusters - Peter Venkman (Courtroom)

Matty has posted new (packaged) photos of Peter Venkman (Courtroom Battle) as well as a character synopsis:

They're the best, they're the beautiful, they're the Ghostbusters™ − and you can trap one for your very own with our film-accurate 6” Peter Venkman™ figure from the Ghostbusters II courtroom scene! The first official release in our 2011 Club Ecto series, Peter comes with convicted murderer Nunzio Scoleri. Naughty Nunzio’s back from the dead with interchangeable standard feet and “flying” feet, while Peter wears his jacket from the courtroom scene. Peter is unslimed and features authentic details like the diamond pattern on his tie. Case closed, boys − this pair is a must-have for every Ghostbusters™ collection!

Venkman will be available for the fleet of finger on MattyCollector.com starting January 18th, 2011. He will run you $20 plus the applicable taxes and shipping fees. If you're a card carrying member of the Ecto-1 Club, Venkman will be automatically shipped to you. No fuss, no muss.

If you were expecting a Ghostbusters II Winston figure this month, you're not alone. Winston with his slime blower was originally slated to be the Ecto-1 Club figure for January, but he was postponed and Courtroom Peter took his spot. No official word on why Winston was delayed, but the popular theory is that the slime blower is being redesigned to be more screen accurate. We're sure he will be worth the wait. His new head sculpt looks excellent.

The rest of Matty's images can be found after the jump.
